5 Things to Do Before Your Bounce House Delivery

Your bounce house delivery is tomorrow. Here's the quick prep checklist so everything goes smoothly — from clearing the yard to finding your outlet.

You booked the bounce house. The party is tomorrow. Now what?

Most of the work is on us — we deliver, set up, inflate, anchor, and safety-check everything before we leave. But there are a few things on your end that make the difference between a smooth setup and a 20-minute delay while we figure out where to put things.

Here are the five things to handle before we show up.

1. Clear the Setup Area

This is the big one. The spot where the bounce house goes needs to be clear of:

  • Patio furniture, toys, garden hoses
  • Dog waste (we check, but please beat us to it)
  • Low-hanging branches or overhead wires
  • Sprinkler heads or rocks hiding in the grass

How much space? Each product listing on our site includes the exact footprint plus the clearance needed around it. As a rule of thumb, add 2-3 feet on every side beyond the unit dimensions. A standard bounce house needs about an 18x15 foot clear area. Water slides need more — check your specific rental.

Flat ground is essential. A small slope is manageable; a hillside is not. If you're unsure, send us a photo of the spot when you book and we'll confirm.

2. Locate Your Outdoor Power Outlet

Every inflatable needs continuous power from a blower. That blower plugs into a standard 110V household outlet — the same kind you'd plug a lamp into.

The outlet needs to be within 100 feet of the setup spot. We bring heavy-duty extension cords, but the shorter the run, the better.

Check that it works. Plug something in and test it. Outdoor outlets with GFCI (the ones with the reset button) can trip and stay off for months without anyone noticing.

No outdoor outlet? We rent generators. Just let us know when you book and we'll add one to your order. It's quieter than you'd think.

3. Plan the Access Path

Our delivery team needs a clear path from the truck to the setup area. Bounce houses are heavy and bulky when deflated — carrying them through a narrow side gate works, but we need to know about it in advance.

Helpful details to share at booking: - Side gate width (most standard gates work fine) - Any steps between the driveway and the backyard - Distance from parking to the setup spot - Whether there's another way in if the main path is tight

For park setups, let us know which park entrance is closest to your reserved area. We'll plan our route.

4. Brief Your Guests (Especially the Kids)

A quick heads-up to parents goes a long way:

  • Shoes off before bouncing. Every time. No exceptions.
  • No food or drinks inside the bounce house. Set up the food table away from the inflatable.
  • Younger and older kids take turns. A 4-year-old and a 10-year-old shouldn't bounce at the same time — the weight difference makes it unpredictable.
  • Socks are optional but recommended on hot days — the material gets warm in direct sun.

We'll go over safety rules with you at setup, but a pre-party text to parents helps set expectations before the excitement takes over.

5. Have a Weather Backup Plan

Orange County weather is reliable, but not bulletproof. Here's the quick version:

  • **Light wind:** No problem. We stake everything down.
  • **Sustained 25+ mph winds:** We can't safely operate. We'll call you if conditions are borderline.
  • **Rain:** Light drizzle is fine. Heavy rain means we reschedule — no charge.
  • **Heat:** Water slides handle heat beautifully. For dry bounce houses on 90°+ days, morning setups are ideal.

Check our full rain policy for details on rescheduling.

Bonus: What You Don't Need to Worry About

  • Extension cords — we bring our own
  • Anchoring — we stake into grass or use sandbags on hard surfaces
  • Inflation — we inflate and deflate; you don't touch the blower
  • Cleanup — we handle teardown and pickup at your scheduled end time
  • Safety inspection — we check every anchor point and seam before we leave

The whole point of our service is that you don't have to manage logistics on party day. Your job is to enjoy it.
